Range & approach
10729 Farmer Road, Kaplan, Louisiana.
- About 30 miles from the announced Starbase Louisiana site. Louisiana Economic Development puts the planned launch campus at Pecan Island, roughly thirty miles due south of the park by bearing. Near enough for a daily commute, far enough that road closures on launch day don't box you in. The gate location and access roads aren't final yet, so we'll publish a road distance and drive time once they are.
- Real town, five minutes out. Kaplan has groceries, fuel, hardware and a hospital. You're not driving an hour for a gallon of milk.
- Sportsman's paradise, literally. Vermilion Parish markets year-round coastal fishing and nationally known duck and goose hunting, with public boat launches and guides nearby.
- High and dry. The property sits in FEMA Zone X, unshaded — outside the mapped special flood hazard area.
- Acadiana, for real. Rice fields, crawfish ponds and the kind of quiet you can hear. Lafayette is an easy drive for an airport or a night out.
