Common questions

Questions we get asked about the park.

Rates, hookups, how far it is from the launch site, and when you can actually park here.

When does Rocket Farm open?

Phase 1 is targeted to open in 2027. The park is in permitting and pre-construction now, so you cannot move in yet — but you can reserve a space with a deposit and we will come to you first when spaces are released.

How do I reserve a space, and is there a deposit?

Tell us which space you want using the form on this page and we will reply with deposit instructions. A $250 deposit reserves your space and is credited to your first month. It is not refundable if you choose to stay somewhere else. If Rocket Farm does not open, or cannot deliver the space you reserved, your deposit is refunded in full. A separate refundable security deposit, stated in your site agreement, is collected at check-in and returned within thirty days after you move out, less any itemized deductions.

How much is a monthly RV space in Kaplan?

Planned opening rates are $700 a month for the eleven 50-amp spaces and $650 a month for the 30-amp spaces, plus electricity metered at each space and billed at cost. Monthly rates assume a 30-day minimum stay.

How far is Rocket Farm from the Starbase Louisiana launch site?

About 30 miles. Louisiana Economic Development puts the announced launch campus at Pecan Island, roughly thirty miles due south of the park by bearing. The gate and its access roads are not final, so that figure is straight-line distance rather than a road route.

Do the RV spaces have full hookups?

Yes. Every one of the seventeen spaces has water, sewer and separately metered power at the site — 50/30/20 amp GFCI pedestals at eleven spaces and 30/20 amp at six. Pads are angled pull-throughs, roughly 13 ft by 70 ft, so nobody has to back up.

Is there Wi-Fi and laundry at the park?

Yes. Free Starlink satellite Wi-Fi covers the whole park and is included in every rate, monthly or nightly. Laundry facilities are on site and paid per use. Cell service out here is rural Vermilion Parish cell service, so the satellite link is the connection to count on for work calls, streaming and staying in touch.

Can I stay just a few nights instead of a month?

Three of the seventeen spaces are held back for short stays at $55 a night, so a monthly tenant never loses their space to turnover. Launch weeks are priced per event with a minimum stay.

Is the park in a flood zone?

No. The property sits in FEMA Zone X, unshaded, which is outside the mapped special flood hazard area.

Where exactly is Rocket Farm?

10729 Farmer Road, Kaplan, Louisiana 70548, in Vermilion Parish. The entrance is mid-way along the Farmer Road frontage on the west side of the property — one gated drive over a culvert, with the sign at the road.

Is Rocket Farm affiliated with SpaceX?

No. Rocket Farm LLC is an independent, family-owned Louisiana business and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by SpaceX or any government agency.
